The night was magical from beginning to end. I knew it would be as I anxiously watched the beautiful people pour in through the raindrops.

Preparing for this event was one of the most challenging to date, but I knew without a doubt, it would be MAGNIFICENT & INSPIRING.

I believe a young girl saw an image that looked like her doing what she aspires to do. I believe a young woman (who was just about to give up) received a fresh wind renewing her strength to persist & succeed.

Throughout the preparation, God reminded me that all I needed was my faith. So it was not a coincidence that two “Faith’s” were honored that night, Faith White & Faith -Victoria Justima and I met my keynote speaker’s daughter Faith, who embraced me so lovingly. God was reminding me that He was there through it all, and because of my faith, the event was a huge success. Not by my might. Not by my power

First, I want to thank my board and committee members for helping to bring this vision to fruition. I could not have done it without you. I genuinely love & care for each of you. We are sisters for Life.

To my hosts, Allecia Hamilton -Thomason and Challen “Lexie” Rivera who took on multiple rolls this year. Southstar Creative designed all of our graphics, created my website, the beautiful new image for Black Girls Rock SWFL, and the BGR SWFL Booklet handed out that night. I appreciate you both more than you will ever know. I pray a prayer of prosperity over you. Love you to Life

To my performers, you all presented your art professionally and exceptionally. You ROCKED the house, and because of your remarkable performances, you took BGR SWFL to another level of excellence. Thank you from my whole heart

To my niece, Katia Gerry, Miss Florida Teen, to

my caterer, my decorator, vendors, and everyone else connected to this event, I say thank you! This production would not have been possible without you. I pray a blessing of overflow and protection over each of you and that everything you touch will prosper

To my Keynote speaker Esther Lully, thank you! Thank you for knowing this was an assignment from God & not from Karen. People are still talking about your message and how it resonated with them. God knew! Get ready, dear, for the windows of heaven to open up. Your obedience is better than your sacrifice. Love you, Sis & I knew she would wait until after the event to make her grand entrance

Lastly, but certainly not least, I wish to thank my honey, Roderick Spears Sr. I thank you for loving me past my flaws and always supporting me whatever the endeavor. Through the good, the bad, and the ugly, one thing is for sure, our fairytale continues. I love you always & forever

Until next time, agape love to you all

Karen
